Maker Space Adventures: 3D Design Studio, Tinker, & PrintScience, Technology, Engineering and MathNewChallenge your creativity by designing 3D objects using Computer Aided Design software and then printing your design prototypes. Learn about measurement, units, & scale while creating your prototyped designs. Attempt to recreate small, functional, full scale, real life objects in addition to your own designs. Code Crew: Build Your Own Games with Scratch!Science, Technology, Engineering and MathNewThis program offers a crash course in coding your own games in Scratch. Students will create and develop 3-4 basic games while learning many foundational programming skills with boundless potential for creativity and expansion. Tailored for the beginner with little to no experience coding on Scratch, we will begin with the basics and have students creating their own detailed, personalized games by the end of the program. Students will come home with a mobile account containing their games to share and play with the whole family! Players will meet Saturday morning online for chess instruction and fun competitive play. Face to face, sanctioned tournament play is strongly encouraged as well. Expert coaching will be provided for participants at many tournaments. Perfect for students who want extra challenges beyond their school clubs. NewISD 621 Chess TeamYouth Activities (K-12 grade)This program is for players in high school interested in participating and competing in “over the board” OTB tournament chess. Face to face lessons will be longer with the purpose of competing as a team. Teams generally consist of players from the same grade and school. A minimum of 3 players are needed to be competitive. The top 22 students will be invited to participate that are rated 1,000 and higher. Otherwise, the top 13 students will be invited. Tournament fees are an additional cost if participants choose to participate in those extra events. Parents will be invited to participate in the “ISD 621 Chess Team Booster Club”.
