Valley Fair Band Performance Field TripSummer BandSummer band participants will have the option to go to Valleyfair on Friday, July 31, 2026 to perform and spend the day exploring. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Interested parents can apply to chaperone this event. Look for more info to come from your band instructors Deadline to register is Thurs, July 9, 2026 Final timelines will be shared with families prior to this trip during the course of summer. WHAT: Summer Band students will perform at the park in the morning and get to spend the rest of the day enjoying the rides. WHEN: Fri. July 31. Students will meet at 9:00 AM to load the buses at Irondale High school. The concert will take place around 10:30 AM. Buses will leave the park at 4:30 PM and return around 5:15 PM. WHERE: The concert will take place at the Midway Stage. HOW: Students must bring their instrument, music and wear the Summer Band T-shirt. (Trailers will be available for larger instruments and percussion equipment.) COST: $82 covers the cost of student admission, buses and staff fees. $41 Education Benefits Rate for Participants who currently qualify CHAPERONES: Parents can volunteer to chaperone for the day- look for a survey to complete in June if interested. GROUPS: Students will walk around the park in groups. 5th graders will have a chaperone with them throughout the day. TRANSPORTATION: Band students registered for this event are required to take the bus both to and from the park- no exceptions. If parents wish to provide their own transportation, you will need to purchase admission for your student on your own as well. (there would be no need to register for this event) Band students can meet up for the concert. LUNCH: Band students will have time for lunch after the concert. Students may purchase lunch at the park or bring their own lunch to eat at the buses before returning to the park. MONEY: Valleyfair is cashless. Introduction to Middle School Orchestra - Grade 66th Grade Summer OrchestraMake a great sound this summer! Join us for four weeks of orchestra FUN ! For students who are currently playing in fifth grade orchestra offers students the opportunity to advance skills and explore a variety of music. Classes will be offered in the morning an evening. Friday Field Trip: Minnesota ZooSummer Day CampsA day at the Minnesota Zoo offers discovery, learning and more. A year-round destination that offers both indoor and outdoor adventures, our exhibit areas and trails include: Discovery Bay, Medtronic Minnesota Trail, Northern Trail, Russia’s Grizzly Coast, Tropics Trail and more! Experience high-quality supervision and new Field trips each week! Friday Field trips are $65 per date and require students to bring a bag lunch. Drop-off/Pick-up will be at Turtle Lake Elementary.Summer 2026
