The walking club is geared towards active adults 50+, but everyone is welcome. Walking offers numerous health benefits, including strengthening the heart, lowering blood sugar, easing joint pain, boosting immune function, burning calories, improving mood, extending life expectancy, toning legs and enhancing creative thinking. Each walk is guided by a staff member and covers two to three miles, allowing participants to set their own pace and choose a walk that suits their fitness level. Summer BandBEGINNING BAND 45-minute group lessons | Students entering grade 5 Beginning Summer Band is offered for four weeks. District band instructors will be at each sign-up night event to answer questions and assist in registration for summer band. Beginning Band Information Nights - Stop by anytime between 5:00-7:00 PM to meet our district band directors if you’d like assistance with registration and to rent a band instrument through one of our reputable music vendors. Tuesday, March 18 at Irondale High School Thursday, April 3 at Chippewa Middle School INTRODUCTION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal| Students entering grade 6 For students who are currently playing in fifth grade band. Introduction to middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks at various locations. ADVANCED MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal | Students entering grades 7-9 For students entering grades 7-9 who are currently playing in band. Advanced middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks from at various locations. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. Youth Scholarship/Financial Aid: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits/free/reduced lunch may be eligible for partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small class sizes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert.
