The trip includes a stops at the Northwest Wisconsin Regional Visitor Center for browsing and gifts, and a visit to the Burnett Dairy Cooperative retail store on our way home for ice cream, cheese curds and other classic dairy treats. Learn to play American style Mah Jongg with instructor Tarri Levine. Tarri shares her passion for Mah Jongg with all participants. This is a great way to learn a popular game and then join in on our three weekly Mah Jongg times for free throughout the year. No need to purchase any equipment, you will borrow tiles and cards during this class. Mah Jongg is played with four players using Mah Jongg tiles and a Mah Jongg card. The goal of the game is to be the first, by picking-up and discarding tiles, to build a hand that matches a designated hand on the National Mah Jongg League card. Rules, strategies and etiquette will be taught and reinforced throughout the learning sessions. Classes will take place at the New Brighton Community Center.

This class is designed for the experienced Nordic Walker who would like to review basic technique and focus on takingtheir walk to the next level of fitness. It is not an introductory class. Emphasis will be on developing efficient and strongtechnique to maximize the upper body workout as walkers gain confidence and experience. With over 15 years of soap-making experience and 12 years of teaching, John has taught more than 500 students and earned the nickname “Bob Ross of Soap Making.” Each student will receive a teaching manual, three bars of soap and guidance on ingredients, equipment and techniques. Participants can enjoy the many benefits of walking, connect with others, explore local parks and appreciate the beauty of nature. The walking club is geared towards active adults 50+, but everyone is welcome. Walking offers numerous health benefits, including strengthening the heart, lowering blood sugar, easing joint pain, boosting immune function, burning calories, improving mood, extending life expectancy, toning legs and enhancing creative thinking. Each walk is guided by a staff member and covers two to three miles, allowing participants to set their own pace and choose a walk that suits their fitness level.
