Run Club - CoedMiddle School SportsDo you love to run? Here’s your chance to develop good form, increase your endurance, learn how to keep a consistent pace and have fun with other students who enjoy running! Students will meet twice a week, no competitions. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Practices 2:30-3:40pm; Intramural Sports Calendar for Practices & Games Reduced Fees & Financial Assistance:Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits and/or free/reduced lunch may be eligible for reduced fees and partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. Soccer - BoysMiddle School SportsIntramural soccer focuses on developing soccer skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. Students engage in fun drills and games while continuing to promote good sportsmanship and team play. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. All Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate; no experience is necessary. Transportation will be provided to and from all competitions - this bus will not bring students home, individual transportation home will need to be arranged by participants on competition evenings. Cleats and Shin guards are encouraged but not required for participation. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Transportation is provided to and from all matches- this bus will not bring students home, individual transportation home will need to be arranged by participants on competition evenings. Space is limited. All Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate. No experience is necessary. Ultimate Frisbee CoedMiddle School SportsUltimate Frisbee is a limited-contact team field sport played with a disc (frisbee). Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football. A game of Ultimate is played by two teams, points are scored by passing the disc to a teammate in the opposing end zone. Other basic rules: players must not take steps while holding the disc (maintain a pivot), and interceptions and incomplete passes are turnovers. All skill levels are welcome. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Coaches will use a variety of drills and games to build skills in a fun and positive environment. All boys and girls in grades 6 – 8 are encouraged to participate regardless of skill ability. Activity buses are available to eligible students after practices. Monday/Wednesday is non-competitive; practice and fun in-house games only. All equipment is provided; knee pads are not required for participation.
