Explore the world of robotics using LEGO®'s Systems. Build cars and dragsters with motors and sensors to explore the environment. Students working in teams will be introduced to robotics fun and learn about the programming process along the way. Summer BandBEGINNING BAND 45-minute group lessons | Students entering grade 5 Beginning Summer Band is offered for four weeks. District band instructors will be at each sign-up night event to answer questions and assist in registration for summer band. Beginning Band Information Nights - Stop by anytime between 5:00-7:00 PM to meet our district band directors if you’d like assistance with registration and to rent a band instrument through one of our reputable music vendors. Tuesday, March 18 at Irondale High School Thursday, April 3 at Chippewa Middle School INTRODUCTION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal| Students entering grade 6 For students who are currently playing in fifth grade band. Introduction to middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks at various locations. ADVANCED MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal | Students entering grades 7-9 For students entering grades 7-9 who are currently playing in band. Advanced middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks from at various locations. Valley Fair Band Performance Field TripSummer BandSummer band participants will have the option to go to Valleyfair on Friday, August 1, 2025 to perform and spend the day exploring. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Season Pass Holders: Please be sure to register for the Valley fair section Labeled season pass holder - S25-VALLEYFAIR-SEASONPASS Interested parents can apply to chaperone this event. Look for more info to come from your band instructors Deadline to register is Friday, July 18, 2025 Final timelines will be shared with families prior to this trip during the course of summer. Friends and family that are interested in spectating will have an opportunity to purchase discounted tickets at a later date. WHAT: Summer Band students will perform at the park in the morning and get to spend the rest of the day enjoying the rides. WHEN: Fri. Aug. 1. Students will meet at 9:00 AM to load the buses (location TBD). The concert will take place around 10:30 AM. Buses will leave the park at 4:30 PM and return around 5:15 PM. WHERE: The concert will take place at the Midway Stage. HOW: Students must bring their instrument, music and wear the Summer Band T-shirt. (Trailers will be available for larger instruments and percussion equipment.) COST: $76 covers the cost of student admission, buses and staff fees. $38 Education Benefits Rate for Particpants who currently qualify ATTENTION SEASON PASS HOLDERS: If you have a season pass, you may register at the $46 option. This exclusive rate includes transportation and supervision. To qualify, you are required to email a picture of your pass to CommunityEd@mvpschools.org. CHAPERONES: Parents can volunteer to chaperone for the day- look for a survey to complete in June if interested. GROUPS: Students will walk around the park in groups. 5th graders will have a chaperone with them throughout the day. We will create groups after we perform. TRANSPORTATION: Band students registered for this event are required to take the bus both to and from the park- no exceptions. LUNCH: Band students will have time for lunch after the concert. Students may purchase lunch at the park or bring their own lunch to eat at the buses before returning to the park. MONEY: Valleyfair is cashless.
