DASH Sports soccer Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the game of soccer. Key elements of dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing & shoes (spikes and shin guards optional). Soccer balls are provided. Parent participation is recommended when needed. Reduced Fees & Financial Assistance: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits and/or free/reduced lunch may be eligible for reduced fees and partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. Qualifying Enrichment and Activities will have a Financial Support/Educational Benefits fee rate that is 50% of the full fee for the program. Ultimate Frisbee is a limited-contact team field sport played with a disc (frisbee). Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football. A game of Ultimate is played by two teams, points are scored by passing the disc to a teammate in the opposing end zone. Other basic rules: players must not take steps while holding the disc (maintain a pivot), and interceptions and incomplete passes are turnovers. All skill levels are welcome. Coaches will use a variety of drills and games to build skills in a fun and positive environment. All boys and girls in grades 6 – 8 are encouraged to participate regardless of skill ability.
