Summer Beginning Band 5th GradeStudents are invited to begin participating in the Mounds View Public Schools band program the summer after fourth grade. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small class sizes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert. Band Information Nights - Stop by anytime between 5:00-7:00 PM to meet our district band directors if you’d like assistance with registration and to rent a band instrument through one of our reputable music vendors. Tuesday, March 18 at Irondale High School Thursday, April 3 at Chippewa Middle School Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. There will also be an opportunity to start band in the fall of fifth grade for students who cannot participate in the summer program. Please note: Beginning Band enrollment will open March 18 at 9am. Sections will not be visible searchable until that time. Youth Scholarship/Financial Aid: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits/free/reduced lunch may be eligible for partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activites programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. Fun in-house competitions will challenge students to put their new skills to the test individually and in pairs. Open to all students 6 - 8th grade. No experience is needed. Wild Mountain Family Ski/Snowboard NightsFamily Enrichment & ActivitiesDeadline to register is NOON the Friday before the event, no exception. Space is limited. Hit the slopes with your family and friends with Family Ski/Snowboard Nights at Wild Mountain. All District families, friends and staff members are invited to join us for a fun night of skiing or snowboarding. Take advantage of extended evening hours on the slopes, special rates on lift ticket and equipment rentals! How to Register Online: Please select your date below. (Double check you selected the correct date) Select the number of lift tickets your family/group needs up to 5 for that date. Please note you DO NOT need to register each person individually for tickets, you can purchase up to 5 lift tickets for your group/family under one name. Children age 5 and under, lift ticket is free. Print your email confirmation and bring that to Wild Mountain for proof of purchase. Group participant will receive their lift ticket and rental slip at the designated group check-in location near the Lesson Counter. A separate liability waiver must be agreed to for each ski/snowboard session, regardless of prior attendance online when registering. Ski Equipment Rental includes skis, boots, poles and helmet. Snowboard Equipment Rental includes snowboard, boots and helmet. Please note: transportation is not provided. No refund for no shows. If session is canceled due to weather, you will receive a full refund. Deadline to register is NOON the Friday before the event, no exception. Wild Mountain Family Snow TubingFamily Enrichment & ActivitiesTake advantage of discounted prices for Mounds View families and join us for a fun afternoon of snow tubing at Wild Mountain. Get the thrill of cruising down a tubing lane alone or with a group of friends/family. The conveyor lift makes getting to the top of the hill effortless. It’s fun, it’s easy and much better than sliding in your backyard. Online registration only through Community Education. Important details: Wild mountain recommends a minimum of 42" tall to go tubing. Everyone must ride in their own tube. Wild Mountain provides tubes for everyone tubing. They do have smaller tubes for guests under 100 lbs. Helmet rental is available at check in for an additional $8 per person. How to Register Online Select the number of tickets your family/group needs up to 8 for that date. Please note you DO NOT need to register each person individually for tickets, you can purchase up to 8 tickets for your group/family under one name.
