First priority: next year's seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, then freshman who will attend a Mounds View school Fall 2026.This is an online course combining virtual office hours and weekly independent coursework. Attendance at the mandatory parent/student orientation is a requirement for the course. This course emphasizes lifetime physical fitness, wellness, sport skills and sport concepts. The physical fitness component includes muscular strength and conditioning, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and fitness planning. The wellness component examines fitness and nutrition concepts that will help students make healthy decisions. Sport skills and concepts include lifetime skills, rules of play, etiquette and sportsmanship. The goal of this class is to explore activities that young people could adopt as lifelong activities. Available to students entering grades 9-12. This course offers .5 credit of compacted curriculum. After completion of the course, students will receive a letter grade which will become part of the student’s transcript. All students will be placed automatically on the waitlist. This Health course builds and reinforces individual awareness of many health-related issues. Topics of study include mental health and communication, prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, CPR, human sexuality, and aging and loss. American Red Cross Hands-Only CPR instruction will be provided. This option does not have a CPR certification card. Additional information will be available at the orientation. Available to students entering grades 10-12. This course offers .5 credit of compacted curriculum.     Basketball Tykes provides players an introductory experience to the great game of basketball through fun skill-based drills and mini-games. Players will be taught how to properly dribble, pass, shoot and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Presented by Dash Sports.     Flag Football - Coed

    Intramural Flag football is coed and all students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate. The game of flag football is a fast-paced, non-contact game played between teams of seven players. Each player on the offense and defense wears a set of flags. "Tackles" are made by pulling the flag out of the belt. All physical contact is strictly monitored for the safety of the players. Activities will not meet on non-school days. Acitvity buses are avaialble after practice for eligible students. Game day busing will bring all participants to host school departing at 2:35pm and return remaining students to their home school ONLY by 5:30pm.     Join us for Elementary Track at your home school site! On your mark, get set, have fun! Join your friends this spring in elementary track as we put fun in fitness. Program includes: high jump, 60-meter dash, relay events & more. Practices and meets may be canceled if there is severe weather; students would be expected to go home on the bus.     Come join us for the inaugural season of Irondale High School Flag Football. This program is made possible through generous support from the MN Vikings and the NFL. The team is open to Irondale High School, Edgewood and Highview Middle Schools student athletes grades 7-12. Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm at Irondale, and games on Sunday afternoons. There will be 8 regular season games on Sundays (4 double headers), playoff games and a state tournament for teams that advance through the playoffs. Specific game, playoff and state tournament details and location information will be shared with players.

  • Mounds View Area Mountain Bike Team

    This coed team is composed of participants interested in learning the skills and experiencing the thrills of mountain biking. No previous experience is needed! Our goal is to help students 6th-12th grade develop a lifelong passion for mountain biking. We are one of over 60 teams in the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA) and our mission is to build strong minds, bodies and character through cycling. There will be a mandatory 2026 season information meeting May 5 at 7 p.m. at Mounds View High School for all riders joining the team. An additional MCA fee of approximately $100 must be paid directly to the league. More team and season information can be found at https://www.moundsviewbiketeam.org/ How to register: NEW RIDERS will be accepted based on capacity and must register and attend the New rider Meet (S26-NEWRIDERMEET). At the meeting, coaches will share information about the team requirements, season, fees, registration passcodes and capacities. Returning Riders - a passcode will be distributed by coaches that will enable you to register. New riders will be accepted based on capacity limits.

    Learn the skills and knowledge to be a safe babysitter for infants up to children 10 years of age! You will learn how to stay safe, play with kids, handle household emergencies, feeding and bath time and given resources on how to market your babysitting services. You will even get certified in CPR and AED training. A collaborative class with St. Anthony Community Services. Bring a snack/lunch to eat that day.

    Discover the rich culture of henna. Henna is a dye prepared from leaves of a henna tree also known as Egyptian privet. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off, typically within two to three weeks. Learn the basics of henna tattoos and practice them. The instructor will fill in or finish your henna design and take home your henna cone.     Come learn, grow your skills and have fun riding mountain bikes with other girls! Campers will learn the 10 essential elements of mountain biking, along with key skills needed to confidently and safely ride dirt trails through the woods. The early sessions will focus on skill-building and group rides on paved trails. As confidence grows, we’ll progress to riding dirt trails in the Lino Lakes area.

    Join the Mounds View varsity tennis team for a summer camp! Boys and girls of all levels from across the district are welcome! Players will be taught fundamental to more advanced skills. They will participate in various drills and games that will help them improve their strokes, net game, footwork and serves. Players can develop and create new relationships in a friendly and positive environment. All proceeds will go to the Marit Swenson Shining Light Foundation and the Mounds View Tennis team.

    Spend the day learning how to ride a horse, including lance and control in the saddle, leading and in-hand work. Other activities may include braiding a horse’s mane, groom, play horse tag and help feed, water and care for horses. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
