Detailed schedule and description available online Activity Mobility level for each Trip Level Expectation Description Level 1: Easy Expectations: This tour requires light physical activity. Tour members should expect intermittent walking, with occasional slight inclines and stair climbs, including boarding the motor coach, boat/ferry, tram, etc. There will be some walking to general points of interest. Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain. Appropriate for: All participants including those with lower mobility and who are comfortable participating in at least three hours of activity per day. Level 2: Moderate Expectations: This tour requires moderate physical activity. Participants should expect a moderate amount of walking. There will be time to rest between activities. To enjoy this tour, you should be prepared to walk slightly longer distances, climb stairs and tolerate periods of standing, for example on walking tours, sightseeing stops, etc. Appropriate for: Most participants beginning with those who are moderately fit, lead semi-active lives, are comfortable participating in long days of activities and expect some moderate physical activity Level 3: Active Expectations: This tour requires a high level of physical activity The tour includes well-paced walking tours, hikes, stairs, moderate slopes with regular breaks. Up to 2-3 hours of walking during trip. To fully take advantage of all this tour has to offer, guests need to be able to walk longer distances, climb several flights of stairs and navigate steps and uneven terrain walking for extended periods of time over more difficult terrain (e.g. cobblestones, city hills, stairs without handrails, limited or no access to elevators). Excursions require standing and walking for long periods of time where motorized vehicles may be prohibited. Appropriate for: Participants who are physically fit, expect a vigorous pace and enjoy participating in two to three hours of physical activity per day.

Beginning Summer Orchestra is for students entering 4th grade (or 5th grade) who will be starting the Violin, Viola or Cello. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday for approximately 50 minutes, with additional time for set-up and tuning. All locations will use the same curriculum and you may register for any site. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. Please note: Beginning Orchestra enrollment will open Feb 21 at 9am. Sections will not be visible searchable until that time. Youth Scholarship/Financial Aid: Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits/free/reduced lunch may be eligible for partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activites programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. We offer a variety of enrichment programs, activities, and sports for students in grades 6-8!

Middle School intramural sports are a great way to improve your skills and engage in friendly competition between the District middle schools. Athletes compete in individual, partner or team events in a wide range of sports throughout the year. Times and transportation are subject to change. BEGINNING BAND 45-minute group lessons | Students entering grade 5 Beginning Summer Band is offered for four weeks. District band instructors will be at each sign-up night event to answer questions and assist in registration for summer band. INTRODUCTION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal| Students entering grade 6 For students who are currently playing in fifth grade band. Introduction to middle school band is a full band rehearsal offered Mondays-Thursdays for four weeks at various locations. ADVANCED MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND 45-minute full band rehearsal | Students entering grades 7-9 For students in grades 6-8 who are currently playing in band. Students are invited to begin participating in the Mounds View Public Schools band program the summer after fourth grade. The summer band program offers students an opportunity to start their learning of a band instrument with frequent instruction and small class sizes. Delivered in a series of 45-minute lessons spanning four weeks, students receive personalized instruction in a small-group setting. At the end of the program, students perform their first band concert. Participants can sign up for any section time or location that works best for them. There will also be an opportunity to start band in the fall of fifth grade for students who cannot participate in the summer program. Please note: Beginning Band enrollment will open Feb 21 at 9am. K-6 Summer Day Camps at Turtle Lake Join us for eight weeks of summer day camps in 2024 including both full-day and half-day options for students entering grades K-6. With new instructors, new topics and one centralized camp site, students will be able to try new things, meet new people and grow. Daily schedule: Drop-off 8 - 9 a.m. Morning camp 9 a.m. - noon Lunch Bunch noon - 1 p.m. (extra $10 per week) Afternoon camp 1 - 4 p.m. Pick-up 4 - 5 p.m. CAMP REGISTRATION Registration opens March 25 at 9 a.m. Register at mvpschools.org/RegisterCommunityEd MORNING AND AFTERNOON CARE Reduce some summer stress with our extended morning drop-off hour and afternoon pick-up hour included in your summer camp registration! Campers can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 5 p.m. giving families a little more flexibility in their day. LUNCH BUNCH Create a full day of fun with the Lunch Bunch program. For families looking for full-day options, the Lunch Bunch program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Bunch provides a supervised lunch hour and playground time. Students are required to bring their own lunch. Registration is in addition to camp registration, and the cost is $10 per week. Lunch Bunch is required for all participants enrolled in both morning and afternoon sessions. FIELD TRIP FRIDAYS Experience high-quality supervision and a new field trip destination every Friday with our Field Trip Fridays! Field trips are $65 per field trip and require students to bring a bag lunch. Drop-off is at Turtle Lake Elementary School from 8 - 9 a.m. with pick-up from 4:30 - 5 p.m. CHECK-IN AND EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION We look forward to making sure participants have a great time this summer and are safe while in our care.
